Anuradhapura City
Anuradhapura is belongs to the North Central Province in to Sri Lanka. Anuradhapura is one of the ancient capitals of Sri Lanka, famous for its well-preserved ruins of ancient Lankan civilization. The city, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, lies 205 km north of the current capital Colombo in Sri Lanka.
Ruwanweliseya
Ruwanweliseya Stupa (Ruwanveli Seya Stupa), das bedeutendste der herrlich erhaltenen antiken Monumente des singhalesischen buddhistischen Erbes in der Stadt Anuradhapura (eine UNESCO-Welterbestätte – Kultur), wurde von König Dutugamunu (161–137 v. Chr.) erbaut, dem Helden der Nation, der aus Ruhuna stammte – einer Region, die vom Altertum bis in die Moderne viele der größten Helden der Insel hervorbrachte. Die Ruwanweliseya Stupa (Ruwanveli Seya Stupa), auch bekannt als Maha Stupa (Singhalesisch: die große Dagoba) oder Ratnapali Stupa oder Swarnamali Stupa, ist die am meisten verehrte und am höchsten geschätzte unter den alten Dagobas in Sri Lanka. Anuradhapura ist reich an alten Kulturstätten, die zwischen dem Fluss Malwatu Oya und zwei großen alten künstlich angelegten Bewässerungsreservoirs, Tissa Wewa und Abhaya Wewa (Basawakkulama Wewa), liegen. Die drei bedeutenden alten Stupas südlich der zerstörten Südwand von Anuradhapura — die Ruwanweliseya Stupa, die Mirisavatiya Dagoba und die Jetavanaramaya Stupa — sind perfekt ausgerichtet mit der himmlischen Formation der Sterne Rigel, Mintaka und Bellatrix, drei der sieben Sterne des Orion, der bei den alten Ägyptern (3150 v. Chr. – traditionelle ägyptische Chronologie) mit Osiris, dem Gott der Wiedergeburt und des Jenseits, assoziiert wurde.
Und Anuradhapura in Sri Lanka (SL-Schwerkraftanomalie: –104 m Geoid) liegt zwar weit südlich von Bodh Gaya im Norden Indiens, jedoch nur dreieinhalb Grad westlich davon. Bodh Gaya, der Ort, an dem Gautama Buddha die höchste Erleuchtung erlangte, gilt in der buddhistischen Kosmologie als Patavi Nahbi (Sanskrit: Nabel der Erde). Der Antipodenpunkt von Bodh Gaya — auf der anderen Seite der Erde, erreichbar über eine Achse, die durch das Erdzentrum verläuft — ist der Sonnentempel (bekannt als der Nabel des Universums) der Maya-Zivilisation (3114 v. Chr. – Langer Zählkalender der Maya) an einer UNESCO-Welterbestätte in Cuzco (Quechua: Nabel des Universums) in der Nähe von Machu Picchu, der verlorenen Stadt der Maya.

RuwanweliseyaThe Ruwanweli Maha Seya, also known as the Mahathupa (the Great Thupa) is a stupa (a hemispherical structure containing relics) in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. Two quarts or one Dona of the Buddha's relics are enshrined in the stupa, making it the largest collection of his relics anywhere. It was built by Sinhalese King Dutugemunu in c. 140 B.C., who became king of Sri Lanka after a war in which the Chola King Elāra (Ellalan) was defeated.

In the sacred city of Anuradhapura and in the vicinity are a large number of ruins. The ruins consist of three classes of buildings, dagobas, monastic buildings, and pokuna (ponds). The city had some of the most complex irrigation systems of the ancient world, situated in the dry zone of the country the administration built many tanks to irrigate the land. Most of the civilians are Sinhala, while Tamils and Sri Lankan Moors live in the district.
