Acorus calamus - Perennial wetland monocot, up to 2 m high, with leaves and rhizome scented. Leaves sympodial, 0.7-1.7 cm broad, margin undulate. The spadix 4.9-8.9 cm long; flowers 3-4 mm across, normally infertile. When fruits present they are berry-like, containing few seeds.
