Semecarpus coriacea - Medium-sized tree. Leaves with short stalks; blades thick, coriaceous, obovate, oblong, base cunete, apex rounded or slightly retuse. Inflorescence of terminal panicles, rather short (8 – 15 cm), with thick glabrous or slightly pilose branches. Drupe over 2.5 cm wide, 2 cm long, compressed, apiculate; receptacle small, 1 mm, scarcely cued.
