Gardenia fosbergii - Shrub, 1 – 3 m high. Leaves opposite, on short lateral shoots, elliptic to elliptic-oblong, 10 – 23 X 3 – 8 cm, apex obtuse, base obtuse to slightly cuneate, above glabrous to sparsely pubescent, shiny, below glabrous or sparsely to densely pubescent. Flowers solitary, yellow fading deep orange. Fruits ellipsoidal, glabrous at maturity. Seeds numerous compressed, embedded in a yellowish pulp which turns orange on exposure.
