Eleocharis dulcis - Perennial with elongated stolon terminated by small tuber. Culms many, tufted, terete, transversely septate; intersepta empty, deep green, somewhat shiny. Spikelet cylindrical, subobtuse at apex, terete, subdensely many-flowered, whitish to pale stramineous. Glumes elliptic to elliptic-oblong to oblong-obovate, whitish, the broad greenish dorsal part finely striate and weakly ridged with 1 costa. Achene obovate, yellow or greyish-brown.
