Echinochloa colona - Leafy annual, usually 30 – 60 cm tall; culms erect or ascending and often rooting from the lower nodes, herbaceous, terete or compressed, glabrous, smooth, usually branched in the lower part, often purplish, few-noded, nodes glabrous; blades flat, widened and subcordate at the base, acuminate and finely pointed or rather acute, sometimes with few tubercle-based hairs on the margins near the ligule.
