Diospyros montana - Tree up to 4 m high and 60 cm diam., grey to yellowish grey bark. Leaves alternate, chartaceous, oblong to subovate-oblong, very shortly, broadly, obtusely acuminate; base rounded or truncate or subcordate with a short cuneate part near the petiole. Male inflorescence a 3-flowerd cyme, female flowers usually solitary on twig or in leaf axil. Corolla white or yellow with wide throat. Fruit globose or depressed-globose, first yellow, turning to red.
