Begonia cordifolia - Perennial acaulescent herb with horizontal, subterranean rhizome up to 3 x 1.5 cm long. Petioles 5-40 cm long, succulent, pinkish,pilose. Leaves 3.5-20x 4-23 cm, deeply and more or less equally cordate at the base. Scapes1-few per leaf axil, reddish-pink, dichasium up to 10 flowered. Capsule whitish turning green with maturity, 7-16 x 5-12 mm. Seeds ovoid, dark brown.
