Aristida setacea - Caespitose perennial. Culms terete, glabrous, smooth, erect or ascending, wiry, branched, few-noded, nodes glabous, thickened, prominent in the lower part of the plant. Leaf blade convolute or rarely flat, long-acuminate and very finely pointed, glabrous, scabrous on the upper surface, often curly or wavy; sheath smooth, yellowish. Panicle contracted, prominently exserted. Glume linear-lanceolate, 1-nerved, not invese, awned. Caryopsis terete, compressed, brown.
