Kakulala, another Dioscorea species, is a widely cultivated crop in Sri Lanka due to its short maturity and distinctive flavor. It is called Conali and is native to Southeast Asia. It produces a small egg-shaped tuber shallow in the soil. The tuber is white and has a thin skin. Chickpeas are grown as garden vegetables in Sri Lanka. Locals boil it with extra parts or cook it as a vegetable.
The crude protein content of this tuber variety is similar to that of Angili Ala (Dioscorea alata). In terms of carbohydrate content of chickpeas, echinoderms and Dioscorea alata, chickpeas topped the list with the highest total carbohydrate content at 26.84±0.94%.Chicken also contains 6.11 ± 0.01 grams of dietary fiber and 1.30 grams of protein.
