Alstonia scholaris - A tall tree, with an erect trunk. Leaves in whorls of 5-10, petiole 0.5-3cm, leaf blade 5-28 cm long and 2.5-11 cm wide, widest in or above the middle, usually rounded at the apex. Cymes dense, small greenish white, fragrant, 5-merous flowers arranged in a sessile umbel or two superposed umbels. Fruit follicles 3-45 cm long, 0.25-0.35 in diameter, very slender, glabrous when ripe. Seeds numerous, obtuse at both ends.
