Toyota Fortuner
Der Toyota Fortuner, auch bekannt als Toyota SW4, ist ein mittelgroßer SUV des japanischen Automobilherstellers Toyota, der seit 2004 produziert wird. Er basiert auf der Hilux-Plattform, verfügt über zwei bzw. drei Sitzreihen und ist wahlweise mit Heck- oder Allradantrieb erhältlich. Er ist Teil von Toyotas IMV-Projekt für Schwellenländer, zu dem auch der Hilux und der Innova gehören.
Während der Fortuner der ersten Generation in Thailand von thailändischen und japanischen Ingenieuren entwickelt wurde, wurde seine überarbeitete Version sowie der Hilux und der Innova in Australien von Toyota Australia entworfen, das auch für die Entwicklung des Modells der zweiten Generation verantwortlich ist.
Spezielle Varianten mit einem 5L-E-Dieselmotor mit Saugmotor werden Regierungen, Organisationen und der UNO neben anderen Nutzfahrzeugen wie dem Prado, Hilux, HiAce und den Land Cruisern der Serien 70 und 200 angeboten.
