Mercedes Classe E
A Mercedes-Benz Classe E é uma linha de carros executivos fabricados pela montadora alemã Mercedes-Benz em várias configurações de motores e carrocerias. Produzida desde 1953, a Classe E ocupa a posição intermediária na linha de modelos da Mercedes e foi comercializada mundialmente em cinco gerações.
Antes de 1993, a letra E na nomenclatura da Mercedes-Benz era um sufixo que seguia o número do modelo de um veículo e significava Einspritzmotor (em alemão, motor de injeção de combustível). Começou a aparecer no início dos anos 1960, quando essa característica começou a ser amplamente utilizada na linha de produtos do fabricante, e não apenas em seus modelos de luxo e esportivos de alto nível. Com o lançamento do modelo W124 remodelado em 1993, a injeção de combustível tornou-se onipresente nos motores da Mercedes, e o E foi adotado como prefixo (por exemplo, E 220) e a linha de modelos passou a ser oficialmente chamada de Classe E (ou E-Klasse). Todas as gerações da Classe E oferecem tração traseira ou o sistema de tração integral 4Matic da Mercedes.
