Persicaria attenuata var. pulchra - Herb, decumbent, 60-100 cm tall; stems glabrous or or with very scattered long hairs. Leaves 8-20 cm long, 15-50 mm wide, upper surfacedensely and coarsely antrose, lower surface with sessile glands hidden below hairs; petiole 10-40 mm long. Spikes cylindrical, very dense, 4-11 cm long, 6-10 mm diameter. Perianth white, parts 2.8–3.8 mm long. Fruit, 2.0–2.5 mm long, 2.0–2.4 mm diameter, dark brown to blackish.
