Allamanda cathartica - A large straggling climeber. Stems glabrous, and woody. Leaves in whorls of 4 or occasionally 3, or leaves opposite, lanceolate. Cymes shortly peduncled. Calyx-lobes ovate oblong. Corolla large , yellow; tube 4-8 cm long, upper part campanulate. Fruit a spinous, almost globose; capsule 3-7 cm long and 3-5 cm in diam; spines up to 1 cm long. Seeds numerous, with a circular wing.
