Ella odyssey is a new luxury train service runs daily between Kandy Railway Station and Demodara Railway Station. It stops at the most popular tourist attractions from Kandy to Demodara. Train will operate daily leaving Kandy at 7 am and reaching Demodara at 2.20 pm, and leaving Demodara at 3.40 pm and reaching Kandy at 9.45 pm.

The train journey from Kandy to Demodara is one of the most scenic and beautiful train journeys in South Asia and it creates a super adventurous feeling through lush green tea plantations, waterfalls and tunnels. The train will stop at these locations for a few minutes for tourists to enjoy the scenery and capture photos and videos. Kandy-Ella train is in high demand from both domestic and international tourists but there were only a few daily trains and the Ella Odyssey train will be a great addition to Sri Lanka tourism.

Om Badulla-distriktet

Badulla er hovedstaden i Uva-provinsen i Sri Lanka. Badulla ligger sydøst for Kandy, næsten omgivet af Badulu Oya-floden, omkring 680 meter over havets overflade og er omgivet af teplantager. Byen er overskygget af Namunukula-bjergkæden. Badulla ligger omkring 230 km fra Colombo mod de østlige skråninger af de centrale bakker i Sri Lanka. Badulla og omegn anbefales varmt til økoturister, da Horton Plains Nationalpark og Knuckles-bjergene ligger få timer væk. Særlige steder i Badulla: Muthiyangana-templet, Dhowa-templet, Bogoda gamle træbro, Rawana-vandfaldet.

Om Uva-provinsen

Uva-provinsen er Sri Lankas næstmindst befolkede provins med 1.187.335 indbyggere, oprettet i 1896. Den består af to distrikter kaldet Badulla og Moneragala. Provinshovedstaden er Badulla. Uva grænser op til den østlige, sydlige og centrale provins. Dens største turistattraktioner er Dunhinda-vandfaldene, Diyaluma-vandfaldene, Rawana-vandfaldene, Yala Nationalpark (delvist beliggende i den sydlige og østlige provins) og Gal Oya Nationalpark (delvist beliggende i den østlige provins).
