NHRC Royal Family - Isurumuniya - Anuradhapura

(SKU: LSB1008C0B) The carving of the Royal Family is done on a plate made of granite. On the face of this plate are carvings of five different people. Senerath Paranavithana claims that this is the time when King Dutugamunu first met the couple Saliya and Ashokamala. King Dutugamunu is represented by the human figure in the middle of the design. He wears a large crown on his head and a "puna noola" around his chest. He is relaxing by leaning his arm on the leg of his queen. Saliya is represented by the person on the right who is crossing his arms over his chest, while Ashokamala is represented by the smaller figure on the left. The other person is using a "Wijinipath" to fan the king.
