Toyota Aqua
Toyota Aqua es un coche hatchback subcompacto/supermini totalmente híbrido eléctrico (segmento B) fabricado y comercializado por Toyota desde 2011. El nombre está destinado exclusivamente al mercado japonés, ya que el vehículo se exportó a mercados internacionales como Prius c, aprovechando la popularidad del nombre del coche híbrido Prius y comercializándose como la alternativa más pequeña al Prius liftback.
Aqua se considera el lanzamiento de marca más exitoso en Japón en los últimos 20 años. A partir de enero de 2017, Aqua/Prius c es el segundo modelo híbrido más vendido de Toyota después del Prius regular, con 1.380.100 unidades vendidas a nivel mundial. Japón, como líder de mercado para Aqua, ha vendido 1.154.500 unidades de este modelo hasta enero de 2017. Aqua fue el coche más vendido (no kei) en Japón durante tres años consecutivos, de 2013 a 2015.
El nombre Aqua significa "agua" en latín. El nombre se eligió para asociar el coche con una "imagen de transparencia limpia" y "algo que es universalmente apreciado".
