Experience:
Your Whale Watching experience starts at 0600 hrs where you will be picked up from your hotel in Ahangama. You will be chauffeured in an air-conditioned vehicle from the hotel to the Mirissa Harbour. The boat departs from Mirissa exactly at 0630 hrs, while the entire whale watching journey lasts for about 4 - 5 hours. The coast off Mirissa is home to Blue Whales, Sperm Whales, Fin Whales, Bryde's Whales, dolphins and occasional Orcas. The ideal season to watch whales would be from November to April when the seas are much calmer.
You can watch these mammals swim past from a safe distance while you will be enlightened about them and their different species by a qualified naturalist. This tour assures you of a responsible whale watching experience with a minimal imprint on nature. You will be served a small snack, one serving of tea or coffee depending on your choice, and a 500 ml mineral water bottle. You will be driven back to your hotel in Ahangama by 1200 hrs.
