Experience

Your day begins at approximately 05:00 hrs with a pick-up from your hotel in Trincomalee by your English-speaking chauffeur guide. Relax in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle as you travel through the scenic countryside towards Sigiriya.

At approximately 07:00 hrs, arrive at the majestic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the iconic ancient citadel associated with King Kassapa. Rising approximately 200 metres above the surrounding jungle, this UNESCO World Heritage Site features beautifully landscaped water gardens, ancient frescoes, impressive lion-paw carvings, and breathtaking panoramic views from the summit. Although the climb can be challenging, the remarkable scenery and historical significance make it a rewarding experience.

At approximately 09:00 hrs, continue to a nearby village for an immersive cultural experience. Travel along peaceful rural paths in a traditional bullock cart, cross a serene lake aboard a traditional catamaran, and walk through picturesque paddy fields. Learn about traditional Sri Lankan cooking methods before enjoying a delicious home-cooked lunch served on lotus leaves in a charming village setting.

Following lunch at approximately 11:30 hrs, embark on an exciting private jeep safari at Hurulu Eco Park. The park is well known for its wild elephant herds and is also home to monkeys, deer, crocodiles, reptiles, and numerous species of birds. Depending on seasonal wildlife movement and elephant activity, the safari may take place at Minneriya National Park or Kaudulla National Park instead, providing the best possible wildlife-viewing experience.

The safari continues until approximately 14:30 hrs, after which you will begin your return journey. Your memorable full-day experience concludes with drop-off at your hotel in Trincomalee at approximately 16:00 hrs.
