Keerthisiri Fernando offers a sociological examination of Sri Lanka's Christian community and its complex relationship with the predominantly Buddhist Sinhala society. Drawing on fieldwork in two villages in Moratuwa, the study traces how Christian faith—brought by Portuguese, Dutch, and British colonial powers—has simultaneously maintained its distinct identity while becoming woven into the broader social fabric. This research explores how religious beliefs, customs, and rituals shape community behavior and investigates the dynamic interplay between Christian integration and cultural integrity in a diverse modern Sri Lankan context.
