Kumana National Park, located on the southeastern coast of Sri Lanka, is one of the country’s most important wildlife and birdwatching destinations. Renowned for its wetlands, lagoons and the famous Kumana Bird Sanctuary, the park provides an important nesting and breeding habitat for numerous resident and migratory bird species. Visitors may also encounter elephants, deer, wild boar, crocodiles and, with some luck, leopards while exploring its diverse natural landscapes.
