Ampara Bölgesi
Ampara Bölgesi, Sri Lankanın 25 bölgesinden biridir ve ülkenin ikinci düzey idari birimlerindendir. Bu bölge, Sri Lanka merkezi hükümeti tarafından atanan bir Bölge Sekreteri (önceden Hükümet Temsilcisi olarak bilinen) tarafından yönetilen bir bölge sekreterliği tarafından idare edilmektedir. Bölgenin başkenti Ampara şehridir. Bu bölge, Batticaloa bölgesinin güney kısmından Nisan 1961'de ayrılmıştır.
Ampara Bölgesi, Sri Lanka'nın Doğu Eyaleti'nde, güneydoğuda yer almaktadır. Alanı 4.415 kilometrekare (1.705 mil kare) olup, kuzeyde Batticaloa ve Polonnaruwa bölgeleriyle, doğuda Hindistan Okyanusu ile, güneyde Hambantota Bölgesiyle, kuzeybatıda Badulla ve Matale bölgeleriyle ve batı ve güneydoğuda ise Monaragala Bölgesiyle sınırlıdır.
Ampara Bölgesi'nin kuzeybatı ucunda (Dehiyattakandiya D.S. Bölgesi), geri kalan bölge ve Doğu Eyaleti, Maduru Oya Barajı tarafından ayrılmıştır.
Ampara Bölgesi'nin 2012 yılı nüfusu 648.057'dir. Bölge, Sri Lanka'nın etnik ve dini açıdan en çeşitli bölgelerinden biridir.
