Mercedes "E"-klass
Mercedes-Benz E-Klass är en serie av executive-bilar som tillverkas av den tyska biltillverkaren Mercedes-Benz i olika motor- och karosskonfigurationer. Den har producerats sedan 1953 och E-Klassen ligger i mitten av Mercedes sortiment och har marknadsförts världen över i fem generationer.
Innan 1993 var E i Mercedes-Benz namnkonvention ett suffix som följde ett fordons modellnummer och stod för Einspritzmotor (tyska för bränsleinsprutningsmotor). Den började dyka upp i början av 1960-talet när denna funktion började användas brett i tillverkarens produktlinje, och inte bara i dess högre lyx- och sportmodeller. Vid lanseringen av den ansiktslyfta W124 1993 var bränsleinsprutning allmänt förekommande i Mercedes motorer, och E antogs som ett prefix (t.ex. E 220) och modellserien kallades officiellt för E-Klass (eller E-Klasse). Alla generationer av E-Klassen har erbjudit antingen bakhjulsdrift eller Mercedes 4Matic fyrhjulsdrivningssystem.
