About this experience
Trace the living heart of Theravada Buddhism across 13 days in Sri Lanka, visiting the sacred sites that have drawn pilgrims for over two millennia. Your English-speaking chauffeur guide collects you each morning and drives you between ancient capitals, forest monasteries, and hilltop shrines in a private vehicle — no shared coaches, no rushed schedules. Along the way, you'll encounter the traditions that have shaped Sri Lankan life since Buddhism arrived in the third century BCE, including the Pāli Canon scholarship and royal patronage that kept these institutions alive through the centuries.
The tour is open to travellers aged five and above. All prevailing taxes and service charges are included, as is your guide and private transport throughout. Hotel accommodation, entrance fees to the respective sites, international and domestic airfare, and personal expenses are arranged separately. Lakpura handles the ground logistics so you can focus entirely on the journey.
