Lakpura® Muthu Kuda

The most common purpose of an umbrella is to shade people from the sun or rain. However, there are various explanations in many cultures regarding the use of Umbrellas. The Lakpura Muthu Kuda is specifically used to act as a shield for Buddhist Monks from the various effects of nature. Simple designs are available while some are embroidered with triple pagodas.

More muthu kuda designs consist of various Buddhist Icons including the Sacred Bodhi Tree Leaf, the Dharma Wheel, the Lotus Flower and the Conch Shell. Some of the designs have been ornately adorned with sequins giving a shine to the umbrella.
