Habarana City
Habarana village is located where A6 Dambulla-Trincomalee road meets A11 Anuradhapura-Polonnaruwa road in the district of Anuradhapura nearly on the border of adjoining district of Polonnaruwa.
Hiriwadunna Sri Bodhiraja Forest Hermitage
Hiriwadunna Viharaya (Hiriwadunna Sri Bodhiraja Forest Hermitage) é um templo budista localizado na vila de Hiriwadunna, no Distrito de Anuradhapura, a apenas 2 km de Habarana. Várias ruínas de estruturas antigas podem ser encontradas espalhadas pelo terreno do templo. O antigo Lago Hiriwadunna, construído pelo rei Wasaba, está localizado perto do templo.
Este local se tornou popular há alguns anos, quando um sacerdote local publicou um livro de teoria da conspiração chamado ‘Apa Upan Me Helabima Budun Upan Jambudweepayai’, argumentando que Buda nasceu e viveu no antigo Sri Lanka. Uma grande laje de pedra, provavelmente um Asanagara (assento simbólico de Buda), está localizada na base da antiga árvore Bodhi, agora parcialmente enterrada sob as raízes da árvore, e foi identificada como Vajrasanaya, o local onde Buda sentou-se durante a iluminação. Independentemente da validade dessas ideias no livro, que foi rejeitado por muitos e até banido das bibliotecas, Hiriwadunna é um lugar histórico imperdível para quem se interessa pela história de Sri Lanka e pelo patrimônio budista.

Anuradhapura District
Anuradhapura is belongs to the North Central Province in to Sri Lanka.Anuradhapura is one of the ancient capitals of Sri Lanka, famous for its well-preserved ruins of ancient Lankan civilization. The city, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, lies 205 km north of the current capital Colombo in Sri Lanka.
In the sacred city of Anuradhapura and in the vicinity are a large number of ruins. The ruins consist of three classes of buildings, dagobas, monastic buildings, and pokuna (ponds). The city had some of the most complex irrigation systems of the ancient world, situated in the dry zone of the country the administration built many tanks to irrigate the land. Most of the civilians are Sinhala, while Tamils and Sri Lankan Moors live in the district.
