A Mesquita Dewatagaha em Lipton Circus, Colombo, tornou-se uma referência em todas as casas muçulmanas e nenhum muçulmano passa pelo santuário do santo sem prestar-lhe respeito.
O santuário de 150 anos, local de descanso do santo muçulmano Sua Santidade Seyedina as-Sheikh Usman Siddique Ibn Ahdurrahman, que visitou o Ceilão vindo de Arafat, na Arábia, visitou Adam’s Peak em Balangoda e mais tarde residiu no que ficou conhecido como Cinnamon Gardens, tem uma história interessante por trás.
Em 1820, uma mulher cingalesa vendedora de óleo, única provedora da família, fazia suas rotas diárias, viajando de Bambalapitiya através da floresta de canela até Maradana.
Nessa floresta, ela tropeçou na raiz de uma árvore de caju e caiu. Seu pote de barro se quebrou em pedaços. “Aiyo, Aiyo!”, ela gritou, “Minha família hoje não terá comida. Meu único meio de sustento foi destruído.” Ela chorou desesperadamente e, exausta, adormeceu profundamente. Uma voz a despertou. Pediu-lhe que não desesperasse e que se levantasse, garantindo que tudo ficaria bem em breve. Ela olhou ao redor e não viu ninguém, e em desespero voltou a chorar.
Novamente a voz repetiu as palavras tranquilizadoras. Isso era inacreditável, pois ela quase não havia visto nenhum ser humano dentro do alcance de voz naquela densa floresta. De repente, ela viu um velho homem vestido de verde, cuja aparência sagrada era inspiradora para a mulher aflita.
“Você não tem nada a temer”, ele disse a ela. “Eu lhe devolverei o seu óleo. Apenas traga um pote.”
A mulher dirigiu-se a Maradana até a casa de um cliente regular, um muçulmano chamado Mamma Lebbe, e pediu à mãe dele que lhe desse um novo pote. Quando ela questionou esse pedido estranho, a vendedora de óleo disse: “Voltarei e contarei minha história.” Ela retornou com o pote à floresta e encontrou o velho homem reclinado contra uma árvore ‘Dawata’ ou ‘Devata’. Ele a orientou a colocar o pote no local onde o primeiro havia sido quebrado. Ele pressionou o pé no chão e, para sua surpresa, o óleo começou a brotar da terra!
A mulher ficou sem palavras de espanto. Colhendo algumas folhas de uma árvore de caju, ele pediu que ela recolhesse o óleo com elas e enchesse seu pote. “Agora você pode ganhar seu sustento”, ele disse, e também pediu que ela informasse seus clientes muçulmanos e lhes mostrasse o local onde ele apareceu. A grata vendedora de óleo fez reverência ao santo e invocou suas bênçãos.
Ela correu até a casa da mãe de Mamma Lebbe e contou sua história do milagre. Um grupo composto por Mamma Lebbe, Periya Pitche, Meera Kani e a vendedora de óleo foi ao local para investigar e encontrou evidências do milagre: o pote quebrado, o óleo que se infiltrava, a árvore de caju e as folhas de caju, a árvore Dawata.
O grupo de muçulmanos recitou Yaseen e Fatiha e rezou: “Ó Vohiyullah (santo)! Louvado seja Allah por nos ter concedido a oportunidade de testemunhar o seu milagre. Ó Deus Todo-Poderoso, que revele a nós a identidade deste Vohiyullah.”
Eles retornaram à mãe de Mamma Lebbe e confirmaram a veracidade do milagre e a precisão do relato da mulher. Compraram o restante do óleo da mulher após ela terminar suas rotas e a dispensaram após lhe darem uma boa refeição. Os muçulmanos da área

The great majority of Sri Lankan corporations have their head offices in Colombo. Some of the industries include chemicals, textiles, glass, cement, leather goods, furniture, and jewellery. In the city center is located South Asia's second tallest building - The World Trade Centre.
About Western Province
The Western Province is the most densely populated province of Sri Lanka. It is home to the legislative capital Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte as well to Colombo, the nation's administrative and business center. Western Province is divided into 3 main districts called Colombo (642 km²), Gampaha (1,386.6 km²) and Kalutara (1,606 km²) districts.
