Known as Wetahiriya or Wetamara locally and Mother of Cocoa, Quickstick, Aaron’s Rod and St. Vincent Plum elsewhere, this plant is scientifically known as Gliricidia sepium and is considered an important multi purpose legume tree. The leaves of this plant has long been used by our local farmers as an organic fertilizer making the soil more fertile.
