Lagoon Village by Bicycle from Galle

Getting off the beaten track and enjoying a calm and leisurely ride that covers a distance of about 12 km, this journey from Galle takes you through many dirt and gravel tracks and passing by a lagoon and mangroves that are rich with endemic flora and fauna. You can also witness the locals going about with their day to day life engaging in small industries that assist in their livelihood. The tour will take about 2.5 - 3 hours or more depending on your riding speed.

Experience:

You will meet at the tour operator’s residence / meeting point according to the scheduled time which will be 8.30 am for the morning session or 2.30 pm for the evening tour. With a warm welcome, you will be briefed about the tour, handed over the bottled water, helmets and a city or mountain bike to suit your physique and size.

Our local guide who is well versed in English will lead you through small gravel roads towards a local village which is nestled by a lagoon and mangroves. During the ride, you can question the guide about the local flora and fauna as well as the culture of the Southern part of the island. The biodiversity you witness here is truly beautiful and calming while you will become familiar with the local area. After cycling around the lagoon, we ride a short distance along the main road and we stop for a refreshing king coconut drink before winding down the tour. We head back to the starting point to end the ride.
