Pani Aluwa, also known as Meegamu Aluwa is a rich traditional Sri Lankan sweet made with roasted rice flour and pure kithul palm treacle. Unlike standard Aluwa, which is typically drier and bound with sugar, Pani Aluwa has a softer, stickier, and more indulgent texture. Cashew nuts and ghee add richness, while a delicate hint of rose water gives it a pleasant aromatic finish. Dark brown in colour, each piece is generously coated with roasted rice flour to prevent sticking and create its distinctive traditional appearance. This authentic Negombo-style delicacy is ideal for festive occasions, celebrations, gifting, or enjoying with a cup of Ceylon tea.
