Habarana City
Habarana village is located where A6 Dambulla-Trincomalee road meets A11 Anuradhapura-Polonnaruwa road in the district of Anuradhapura nearly on the border of adjoining district of Polonnaruwa.
Ermita del bosque Hiriwadunna Sri Bodhiraja
Hiriwadunna Viharaya (Hiriwadunna Sri Bodhiraja Forest Hermitage) es un templo budista ubicado en el pueblo de Hiriwadunna en el Distrito de Anuradhapura, a solo 2 km de la ciudad de Habarana. Se encuentran esparruidas varias ruinas de estructuras antiguas en los terrenos del templo. El antiguo Lago Hiriwadunna, construido por el rey Wasaba, está ubicado cerca del sitio del templo.
Este sitio se hizo popular hace unos años cuando un sacerdote local publicó un libro de teorías conspirativas titulado ‘Apa Upan Me Helabima Budun Upan Jambudweepayai’, en el que argumentaba que Buda nació y vivió en la antigua Sri Lanka. Una gran losa de piedra, probablemente un Asanagara (silla simbólica de Buda), yace en el fondo del antiguo árbol Bo, ahora parcialmente enterrado bajo las raíces del árbol, y ha sido identificada como Vajrasanaya, el lugar donde Buda se sentó durante su iluminación. Independientemente de la validez de estas ideas en este libro, que ha sido rechazado por muchos e incluso prohibido en bibliotecas, Hiriwadunna es un lugar histórico que debe ser visitado por aquellos interesados en la historia de Sri Lanka y el patrimonio budista.

Anuradhapura District
Anuradhapura is belongs to the North Central Province in to Sri Lanka.Anuradhapura is one of the ancient capitals of Sri Lanka, famous for its well-preserved ruins of ancient Lankan civilization. The city, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, lies 205 km north of the current capital Colombo in Sri Lanka.
In the sacred city of Anuradhapura and in the vicinity are a large number of ruins. The ruins consist of three classes of buildings, dagobas, monastic buildings, and pokuna (ponds). The city had some of the most complex irrigation systems of the ancient world, situated in the dry zone of the country the administration built many tanks to irrigate the land.
