Experience:

Your experience begins with a pickup from your selected location in Arugam Bay, followed by a comfortable transfer to the jewellery workshop. Upon arrival, the artisan will introduce you to the workspace, explain the traditional tools, and demonstrate the basic methods used to transform silver into a finished piece of jewellery.

During the workshop, you will actively participate in:

  • Creating a simple design for your jewellery piece
  • Measuring, cutting, and shaping silver
  • Hammering and texturing the metal
  • Soldering and joining the different sections
  • Smoothing, filing, and polishing the finished jewellery
  • Adding optional decorative details under the artisan's guidance

You may choose to create a simple silver ring, pendant, bracelet, or another small jewellery item, depending on the available materials and workshop duration. The artisan will assist you throughout each stage, making the activity suitable for beginners with no previous jewellery-making experience.

This workshop provides an opportunity to learn about traditional craftsmanship, understand the value of handmade jewellery, and create a meaningful souvenir using your own design and creativity. At the end of the session, you can take home the silver jewellery piece you created as a memorable keepsake from your visit to Sri Lanka.

Note: Jewellery size and design depend on the workshop duration and included silver. Extra silver, gemstones, or complex designs are available for an additional fee payable directly to the workshop.
