Vividly hand-painted, the mask features a bold black base with fiery yellow and red patterns, intense round eyes, and a wide red mouth filled with sharp white teeth—emphasizing its fearsome, spiritual presence. Maru Sanniya Mask is used for its purpose of healing and blessing through a performance in which 18 kinds of maladies, inflicted by devils, are purged from the human body.

Custom made wearable masks can be ordered separately upon request and proper measurement.
