Kegalle-distriktet
Kegalle är ett distrikt som ligger i Sabaragamuwa-provinsen i Sri Lanka. Det är ett av de 25 distrikten i Sri Lanka och utgör landets andra nivå av administrativ indelning. Distriktet administreras av ett distriktssekretariat som leds av en distriktssekreterare (tidigare känd som en regeringsagent), utsedd av Sri Lankas centralregering. Det var tidigare en Dissavani i Sri Lanka.
Det täcker en yta på 1 693 km². Enligt folkräkningen 2012 har distriktet en befolkning på 837 179 invånare, vilket motsvarar cirka 4,0 % av Sri Lankas totala befolkning.
Distriktet Kegalle är beläget mellan de centrala höglanden och de västra samt södra slätterna och har en förtrollande naturlig miljö. Den västra regionens höjd är cirka 50 m (160 fot) över havet, medan den östra regionen överstiger 1 800 m (5 900 fot). Gummiodling sträcker sig över större delen av distriktets område, och mindre exportgrödor från distriktet inkluderar kaffe, kakao, peppar, kryddnejlika och muskotnöt. Sri Lankas bästa grafitgruva är belägen i Bogala i Kegalle-distriktet. Distriktets totala yta är 1 692,8 km² (653,6 kvadratmil).
