Gampaha-distriktet
Gampaha District är en av de 25 distrikten i Sri Lanka, den andra nivåns administrativa enhet i landet. Det är det näst mest befolkade distriktet i Sri Lanka efter Colombo District. Distriktet administreras av ett distriktssekretariat som leds av en distriktssekreterare som utses av Sri Lankas centralregering. Huvudstaden i distriktet är staden Gampaha. Dock är Negombo den största staden och det kommersiella centret för Gampaha distrikt. Distriktet skapades i september 1978 när det avskiljdes från den norra delen av Colombo District.
Gampaha District ligger i västra Sri Lanka och har en yta på 1 387 kvadratkilometer (536 kvadratmil). Det gränsar till distrikten Kurunegala och Puttalam i norr, Kegalle District i öster, Colombo District i söder och till Indiska oceanen i väster. Distriktets gränser utgörs av Ma Oya i norr, Kelani River i söder och konturlinjen på 1 000 fot i öster.
Gampaha District är uppdelat i 13 Divisional Secretary's Divisions (DS Divisions), var och en ledd av en Divisional Secretary. DS Divisions är vidare uppdelade i 1 177 Grama Niladhari Divisions (GN Divisions).
Gampaha Districts befolkning var 2 294 641 år 2012. Majoriteten av befolkningen är singaleser, med en minoritet av Sri Lankanska Moorer och Sri Lankanska Tamiler.
