Habarana City
Habarana village is located where A6 Dambulla-Trincomalee road meets A11 Anuradhapura-Polonnaruwa road in the district of Anuradhapura nearly on the border of adjoining district of Polonnaruwa.
Hiriwadunna Sri Bodhiraja Forest Hermitage
Hiriwadunna Viharaya (Hiriwadunna Sri Bodhiraja Forest Hermitage) är ett buddhistiskt tempel som ligger i byn Hiriwadunna i Anuradhapura-distriktet, bara 2 km från staden Habarana. Flera ruiner av gamla byggnader finns utspridda på tempelområdet. Den gamla Hiriwadunna-sjön som byggdes av kung Wasaba ligger nära tempelplatsen.
Denna plats blev populär för några år sedan när en lokal präst publicerade en konspirationsteoribok med titeln ‘Apa Upan Me Helabima Budun Upan Jambudweepayai’, där han hävdade att Buddha föddes och levde i det antika Sri Lanka. En stor stenplatta, troligtvis en Asanagara (Buddhas symboliska säte), ligger vid botten av det gamla Bodhi-trädet, nu delvis begravd under trädets rötter, och har identifierats som Vajrasanaya, platsen där Buddha satt under sin upplysning. Oavsett giltigheten av dessa idéer i boken, som har avvisats av många och till och med förbjudits från bibliotek, är Hiriwadunna en historisk plats som måste ses av dem som är intresserade av Sri Lankas historia och buddhistiska arv.

Anuradhapura District
Anuradhapura is belongs to the North Central Province in to Sri Lanka.Anuradhapura is one of the ancient capitals of Sri Lanka, famous for its well-preserved ruins of ancient Lankan civilization.
