The Lakpura® Karthakolomban Mango Plant is one of Sri Lanka’s most prized mango varieties, celebrated for its exceptionally sweet, tropical flavor and rich fragrance. Known for its fiberless, dark golden-orange flesh with a high sugar content and low acidity, the Karthakolomban mango delivers a honey-like taste and smooth texture ideal for fresh eating, juices, and desserts. This medium-sized tree thrives in Sri Lanka’s dry and intermediate zones, preferring red loamy soil and full sunlight for at least 8 hours daily. It typically bears fruit within 3–4 years of planting and offers reliable yields with natural pest and disease resistance, making it a favorite for both home gardeners and commercial farmers. Its medium-to-large fruits with smooth, golden-yellow skin, sometimes kissed with a bright red blush, are highly sought after in local and export markets alike, especially during the peak season from May to August.
