Verdens bedst sælgende bil, Toyota Corolla Axio, er en kompakt bil, der kan prale med rekordhøje salg, ikke kun i Japan, men også verden over. Den første generation af Toyota Corolla blev født i 1966, og den tiende generation blev frigivet til salg i oktober 2006. Der blev kun gennemført en fuld modelændring på Corolla Sedan og Wagon. Corolla Runx og minivanen Corolla Spacio er ikke blevet ændret.
Toyota Corolla Axio er en lille personbil. Den er praktisk og nem at håndtere. Målet med designet var at lave en bil, der har et dynamisk udseende, men stadig er kompakt i størrelse, og et komfortabelt interiør i moderat størrelse.
Det vigtigste, der er blevet udviklet særligt i den nuværende model, er nem håndtering. Alle sedanmodeller under navnet Axio blev udstyret med en bagmonitor som standardudstyr. Desuden er ratet ikke kun udstyret med en tiltmekanisme, men også med en teleskopisk mekanisme.
