Mercedes třídy „E“
Mercedes-Benz třídy E je řada exekutivních vozů vyráběných německým automobilovým výrobcem Mercedes-Benz v různých konfiguracích motorů a karosérií. Produkce probíhá od roku 1953 a třída E je střední řadou v nabídce Mercedesu, která byla celosvětově nabízena v pěti generacích.
Před rokem 1993 byl v názvosloví Mercedes-Benz písmeno E příponou, která následovala číslo modelu vozidla a znamenala Einspritzmotor (německy motor s vstřikováním paliva). Začalo se objevovat počátkem 60. let, kdy tato technologie začala být široce využívána v produktové řadě výrobce, a to nejen v luxusních a sportovních modelech vyšší třídy. Po uvedení faceliftovaného modelu W124 v roce 1993 se vstřikování paliva stalo běžným ve všech motorech Mercedesu a písmeno E bylo přijaté jako předpona (např. E 220) a modelová řada byla oficiálně označena jako třída E (nebo E-Klasse). Všechny generace třídy E nabízejí buď pohon zadních kol, nebo systém pohonu všech kol 4Matic od Mercedesu.
