The Experience
Meet your tour guide at the Deniyaya Entrance of the Sinharaja Rain Forest and begin a memorable 2–3 hour birdwatching experience through the dense jungle. A free shuttle service—usually a 4×4 vehicle—will take you from the reserve car park to the trekking starting point. The trek covers approximately 5 km, and your expert guide, well-versed in rare and endemic bird species, will help you spot and learn about them. Keep your cameras and binoculars ready. The tour also includes a visit to the Forest Department Conservation Centre.

Torrential rain may occur from time to time, and leeches are common during the rainy season. Proper clothing is recommended to stay comfortable and protected. Leech socks will be provided. A packed lunch and snacks are included for you to enjoy during the trek.
