Mitsubishi Pajero
Mitsubishi Pajero, Mitsubishi tarafından dört nesil boyunca dünya çapında üretilen ve pazarlanan tam boyutlu bir SUV (spor taşıma aracı)dır — 1981'de tanıtıldı ve 2021'de üretimi sonlandırıldı.
Pajero adı, Leopardus pajeros, Pampas kedisinden alınmıştır. Mitsubishi, bu SUV'yi Kuzey Amerika, İspanya ve Latin Amerika'da (Brezilya ve Jamaika hariç) Montero adıyla pazarlamıştır çünkü "pajero" kelimesi İspanyolcada aşağılayıcı bir anlam taşımaktadır (kelime anlamı "aptal"dır). Birleşik Krallık'ta, Japonca'da "general" anlamına gelen "Shogun" adıyla biliniyordu. Model, Kuzey Amerika'da 2006 yılında üretimden kaldırıldı.
Pajero, Montero ve Shogun isimleri, mekanik olarak ilişkili olmayan diğer modellerde de kullanıldı, örneğin Pajero Mini kei aracı, Pajero Junior ve Pajero iO/Pinin mini SUV'ler ve Triton/Pajero/Montero/Shogun Sport tabanlı orta boy SUV'ler gibi. Pajero, Mitsubishi'nin dört modelinden biridir (diğerleri Triton, Pajero Sport ve Pajero iO), Mitsubishi'nin Super-Select dört tekerlekten çekiş sistemini kullanırken, hafif Mitsubishi S-AWC dört tekerlekten çekiş sistemini kullanmazlar.
Pajero, 40 yıllık tarihinde 3,3 milyonun üzerinde satış gerçekleştirdi. Adı, Mitsubishi Triton/L200/Strada pikapına dayanan daha küçük Pajero Sport ile yaşatılmaktadır. Ad benzerliğine rağmen, Pajero Sport, orijinal Pajero'nun temel yapılarından hiçbirini paylaşmaz ve genel boyut olarak daha küçüktür.
