This viewpoint was officially opened to the public on January 26, 2025, as a joint initiative by the Sri Lanka Air Force and the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority. The project began in mid-2024 with the goal of enhancing sustainable tourism while showcasing the natural grandeur of the central highlands.

Designed with visitor experience and environmental harmony in mind, Eagle’s Viewpoint includes safety railings, paved paths, and informative signboards to enrich the visit without disturbing the natural ecosystem.
