Сабарегамува — это еще одна провинция Шри-Ланки, расположенная в южно-центральной части острова и состоящая из двух административных округов: Ратнапура и Кегалле. Название Сабарегамува происходит от её бывших коренных жителей, а именно Сабара, индийский термин для племен охотников-собирателей, редко используемый в древней Шри-Ланке. Провинция хорошо известна своей ювелирной промышленностью, особенно округом Ратнапура. Помимо ювелирной отрасли, провинция известна выращиванием риса и фруктов посевами и плантациями каучука. В провинции также есть туристические достопримечательности, такие как лесной заповедник Синхараджа, национальный парк Удавалаве, Китулгала и Пик Адама и др.
Столицей провинции является Ратнапура, название означает «город драгоценных камней», город, наиболее известный своей давно устоявшейся ювелирной промышленностью в Шри-Ланке. Выращивание риса в настоящее время сталкивается с неопределённым будущим в Ратнапуре, так как многие фермеры отказываются от выращивания риса и переключаются на добычу драгоценных камней, что является более продуктивным способом заработка. Выращиваются многие вкусные фрукты, такие как манго и папайя, а также овощи для продажи на рынке.
Ратнапура расположена на шоссе A4, которое соединяет столицу Коломбо с Калмунай в Восточной провинции. Другое шоссе A8 соединяет город с Панадурой на западном побережье Шри-Ланки. В Ратнапуре преобладает климат тропического дождевого леса климат. Город расположен в юго-западной части Шри-Ланки, так называемой влажной зоне. Город получает осадки преимущественно от юго-западных муссонов с мая по сентябрь и часто подвергается наводнениям.
Провинция Сабарегамува

Sabaragamuwa ProvinceSabaragamuwa is yet another province of Sri Lanka, located in the south-central region of the island and is comprised of two administrative districts: Ratnapura and Kegalle.

Northern ProvinceThe Northern Province is located in the north of Sri Lanka just 35 km from India. It has a land area of 8,884 km’. The province is surrounded by the Gulf of Mannar and Palk Bay to the west, Palk Strait to the north west, the Bay of Bengal to the north and east and the Eastern, North Central and North Western provinces to the south.

Eastern ProvinceAnother province of Sri Lanka mostly known for its golden beaches and the natural harbour, the Eastern Province which is 9,996 km2 in extent consists of three administrative districts namely Trincomalee, Batticaloa and Ampara.
