Earl Grey is black tea scented with bergamot, a citrus fruit, and this Mackwoods version uses single estate, unblended Ceylon tea as its base.
The cup is a strong amber with a floral citrus aroma, and it takes a slice of lemon or a little milk equally well.
In the pack
- 25 enveloped tea bags, 50 g
- Ceylon black tea with bergamot flavour
How to brew
Use one bag per cup of freshly boiled water and steep for 3 to 5 minutes. For iced Earl Grey, brew double strength and pour over ice.
Storage
Store the pack closed, somewhere cool and dry, away from strong smells.
Mackwoods was founded in Ceylon in 1841 by Captain William Mackwood and is one of the oldest trading houses in Sri Lanka. Tea has been part of its business from the start.
