Lipton Ceylonta Tea comes in a gold box of 100 tea bags holding 200g of black tea from Sri Lanka. This is the larger carton of Ceylonta, and it can be ordered as a single box or in packs of 3 or 6 boxes.
The front of the box shows rows of clipped tea bushes running across a hillside, with a glass cup of dark red tea set in the foreground. Above them sit the Lipton and Ceylonta names, the words Quality No1 and a banner marking over 120 years of expertise. Lipton presents it as a blend with a rich taste and aroma, made from high quality tea leaves.
The tea inside is Pure Ceylon black tea, and the box carries the Ceylon Tea lion symbol. That lion belongs to the Sri Lanka Tea Board, which allows it only on packs filled with pure Ceylon tea and packed in Sri Lanka.
Lipton has ties to the island that go back to 1890, when Thomas Lipton came to what was then British Ceylon and did business with James Taylor, the planter credited with introducing tea gardens to the country. With 100 bags already portioned, one box makes a single cup at a time or a pot for several people without measuring.
