Lifetone's Garcinia Cambogia Tea is a two-ingredient blend made from dried and powdered Garcinia cambogia — the tart tropical fruit known across Sri Lanka and South Asia as Goraka — combined with Ceylon Black tea. Each pack contains twenty individual sachets, each weighing two grams, sealed inside a kraft paper stand-up pouch with a zip-lock closure. The total net weight of the pack is forty grams.
Garcinia cambogia has a long culinary history in Sri Lanka, where the sun-dried fruit has been used as a souring agent and flavouring ingredient for generations, particularly in fish curries and chutneys. Lifetone pairs it with Ceylon Black tea — the full-bodied, amber-coloured tea for which Sri Lanka is internationally recognised — to produce a cup that carries both the characteristic astringency of black tea and the distinctive tartness of the dried fruit. The flavour is assertive rather than delicate.
The tea is manufactured by Possible Green Private Limited at their facility in Killinochchi, in northern Sri Lanka. The manufacturing company holds ISO 22000:2005 food safety management certification (Certificate No. 190325049402, accredited by UAF), and the product is registered under the Department of Ayurveda, Sri Lanka. It is distributed from Kingston Upon Thames in the United Kingdom.
Preparing a cup is straightforward. Place one sachet in a cup, pour over freshly boiled water, and allow the bag to infuse for at least two minutes. Stir the bag a few times and give it a gentle squeeze before removing it, so the full flavour is released. Once the pouch has been opened, the unused sachets are best kept in an airtight container.
A general caution is printed on the packaging: pregnant women, lactating mothers, children, and anyone currently taking medication or awaiting surgery should speak with their doctor before using this product. This listing is available as a single forty-gram pack or as a pack of two.
