About this experience
Climb into a World War II vintage jeep for a private three-hour tour of Colombo's landmarks. The jeep is open-air, giving a clear view all round that is ideal for photographs and video, and an English-speaking local guide rides with you, explaining the history of each place as you go. Tours start at 9.00 am or 3.00 pm with pick-up from your hotel in Colombo, and you are dropped back at your hotel at around 12.00 pm or 6.00 pm.
The route runs from Independence Square past Viharamahadevi Park to Gangaramaya Temple, Seema Malakaya and Beira Lake, then into Pettah for the Floating Market, Pettah Market, the Jami Ul-Alfar Mosque, Colombo Fort Railway Station and the Pettah World Market. From there it continues to the Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct and Port City Colombo, finishing on Galle Face Green beside the sea.
A vintage jeep stands out among the buses, three-wheelers and modern cars of Colombo's traffic, so expect a little attention along the way. Photo stops can be made where there is reasonable parking, and drive times can vary with the city's traffic.

Entrance charges for the tour sites are included, and free Wi-Fi keeps you connected throughout. Lunch and gratuities are not included. The jeep is reserved for your group alone, and comfortable walking shoes and a hat are recommended.
