Mitsubishi Pajero
Mitsubishi Pajero to pełnowymiarowy SUV (sportowy pojazd użytkowy), produkowany i sprzedawany globalnie przez Mitsubishi przez cztery generacje — został wprowadzony w 1981 roku i wycofany z produkcji w 2021 roku.
Nazwa Pajero pochodzi od Leopardus pajeros, kota pampasowego. Mitsubishi sprzedawało ten SUV pod nazwą Montero w Ameryce Północnej, Hiszpanii i Ameryce Łacińskiej (z wyjątkiem Brazylii i Jamajki), ponieważ termin "pajero" ma obraźliwe znaczenie (oznacza "idiotę") w języku hiszpańskim. W Wielkiej Brytanii był znany jako Shogun (??), nazwa pochodząca od japońskiego słowa "generał". Model został wycofany z rynku północnoamerykańskiego w 2006 roku.
Nazwy Pajero, Montero i Shogun były używane także w odniesieniu do innych, mechanicznie niezwiązanych modeli, takich jak Pajero Mini kei car, Pajero Junior i Pajero iO/Pinin mini SUV oraz średniej wielkości SUV-y oparte na modelu Triton/Pajero/Montero/Shogun Sport. Pajero jest jednym z czterech modeli Mitsubishi (pozostałe to Triton, Pajero Sport i Pajero iO), które dzielą system Super-Select napędu na cztery koła Mitsubishi, w przeciwieństwie do ich lekkiego systemu Mitsubishi S-AWC napędu na wszystkie koła.
Pajero wygenerowało ponad 3,3 miliona sprzedaży w ciągu 40-letniej historii. Nazwa przetrwała w postaci mniejszego Pajero Sport, opartego na pick-upie Mitsubishi Triton/L200/Strada. Pomimo podobieństwa w nazwie, Pajero Sport nie dzieli żadnej z podstawowych cech oryginalnego Pajero i jest mniejsze pod względem ogólnych rozmiarów.
