Clients

Lakpura is a specialist destination management company (DMC) for Sri Lanka, working with a broad network of travel industry partners across more than 50 countries. Our client relationships are built on a straightforward promise: accurate knowledge of the destination, reliable operations on the ground, and a point of contact who responds when it matters.

Who Does Lakpura Work With?

Our client base spans the full spectrum of the international travel trade. We work with independent travel agencies and large tour operators, online travel agencies (OTAs), wholesalers and consolidators, cruise lines, corporate travel buyers, and luxury concierge services. Each category has different expectations — a luxury operator needs private villa transfers confirmed by nightfall, while a wholesaler needs net-rate packages scalable across thousands of bookings. We structure our service model to accommodate both.

  • Inbound tour operators and wholesalers — regular contract-based partnerships with competitive net rates, reliable allocations, and dedicated account management.
  • Retail and independent travel agents — flexible, per-booking arrangements with full documentation support, including visa information, health advisories, and destination guides.
  • Corporate and MICE buyers — end-to-end event coordination, incentive travel programmes, and group logistics across Sri Lanka.
  • Cruise lines and port agents — shore excursion packages and private transfers for passengers arriving at Colombo and other ports.
  • Online travel agencies — API-ready product connectivity and dynamic packaging support.

What Services Do We Deliver to Trade Partners?

Lakpura's service portfolio covers the end-to-end holiday lifecycle for Sri Lanka. Trade partners access accommodation, transportation, guided tours, activity bookings, and specialist experiences through a single point of contact rather than managing multiple local suppliers independently.

Our ground transportation fleet includes private air-conditioned vehicles, minibuses, and coaches, operated by experienced drivers who double as informal guides on longer routes. For partners building itineraries around the island's diverse landscapes, we handle logistics from the cultural heritage sites of the north-central province to the wildlife reserves of the south — including safaris at Udawalawe National Park and nature circuits through the Sinharaja Forest Reserve.

For agents who need to differentiate their Sri Lanka offering, we curate a range of experiential add-ons: river safaris, village immersions, cooking demonstrations, and photography-focused itineraries that go beyond the standard circuit.

How Does Lakpura Support Its Trade Partners?

Responsive communication is the most consistent piece of feedback we receive from partners, and it is the metric we take most seriously. Enquiries are handled by destination specialists — staff who have personally visited the places and properties they recommend — rather than by a generic customer service team reading from a database.

Support extends across the full booking journey:

  1. Pre-sale: itinerary design, product recommendations, and rate negotiations tailored to your market segment.
  2. On-sale: real-time availability, booking confirmation, and documentation within agreed turnaround times.
  3. In-destination: a 24-hour operations contact for your clients while they travel, covering schedule changes, medical referrals, or any on-the-ground contingency.
  4. Post-travel: prompt resolution of any billing queries and structured feedback collection to improve future programmes.

What Makes Lakpura Different from Other Sri Lanka DMCs?

Sri Lanka has no shortage of ground operators, but the gap in quality tends to show at scale — when a partner is handling high volumes, or when something goes wrong during a client's trip. Lakpura's operational infrastructure has been built to handle both scenarios without degrading the client experience.

We hold membership with key industry bodies and maintain relationships with Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA)-licensed accommodation and activity providers. This means the experiences we sell meet a defined standard, and our partners can brand them with confidence.

Our product range is deliberately wide. A travel agent building a two-week private tour might combine a Colombo city tour at arrival with a hill-country rail journey, a wildlife drive, and a beach extension in the south — all coordinated under one booking reference with Lakpura handling every ground component.

How Do I Become a Lakpura Trade Partner?

Registration is open to any IATA-accredited travel agency, licensed tour operator, or verified corporate buyer. New partners typically begin with a short credentials exchange, after which our partnerships team assigns a dedicated account manager and walks through our rate structures, booking platform access, and documentation requirements.

We do not work with unvetted resellers, and we do not undercut partners by selling direct to their clients at lower prices. Trade pricing is protected, and all consumer-facing bookings made through Lakpura's own website are offered at retail rates consistent with the market.

Does Lakpura Handle Specialist or Niche Travel Products?

Yes. Beyond standard leisure tourism, Lakpura supports partners whose clients are looking for something specific. This includes wellness and yoga tours, adventure travel, birdwatching and wildlife-focused itineraries, culinary experiences built around Sri Lankan produce and cooking traditions, and photography tours timed around natural or cultural events such as the Esala Perahera Festival.

We also offer Spanish-language ground support for partners serving Latin American and Iberian markets — an increasingly important capability as Sri Lanka draws travellers from a wider geographic spread. Agents who need Spanish-speaking drivers and guides can request this at the quotation stage.

What Is Lakpura's Approach to Responsible Tourism?

Partners increasingly need to demonstrate environmental and ethical credentials to their own clients. Lakpura's product portfolio reflects a considered approach to responsible tourism: we do not include elephant-riding experiences that use unethical practices, we promote community-based tourism initiatives, and we work with conservation projects — including sea turtle protection programmes on the southern coast — where client visits directly contribute to conservation funding.

When designing itineraries, we apply the same standards to our recommendations. Where an experience carries conditions — for example, visitor limits inside a protected forest reserve — we communicate those clearly so partners can set accurate expectations with their clients.
